Activity

The next few weeks will find 5th and 6th grade focused on typing. We will make it a focus only until students are able to autonomously continue to work on developing this essential skill set.

Today we will continue our introduction to keyboarding. All students in 5th and 6th grade will begin weekly typing activities designed to teach them efficient typing techniques. We will do the following:

• Review what we remember to be efficient keyboard behaviors.
• Review the home row keys.
• Access student TypingWeb accounts - www.typingweb.com.
• Take a baseline typing test. Record wpm.
• Begin Lesson 1 - The Home Row Keys

If this is not completed during class, Lesson 1 will be assigned for completion at home.

Assessment

Students will begin being assessed each week on lesson completion, typing tests taken, and in class typing activities.
